Count me in, I'm not sure how I'll do it yet, I can't pull the dune buggy and the trailer, but I'm going to look at toyhaulers tomorrow. Worse case I'll just bring a tent.

At the moment I have a campsite reserved at Lady Bird Johnson Park. If we ever get some half-decent weather I'm going to finish my homemade tear drop camper / buggy hauler.

I and my lowly camper may feel intimidated among all the big rigs I usually see at Oakwood.

Yesterday I also reserved a room at Holiday Inn in Salado for the Blast.

Cory,

We already looked at a toy hauler last month. Santa delivered this 2008 Raptor to us a few days before Christmas. It has a 12ft area for hauling the buggy.

Bill,

Change the reservation over to Oakwood, gonna have lots of good stories told around the campfire, etc.

Hopefully no rain this year 8-)

Nice Billy! Keep an eye on your tires. The folks I stayed with when I buggies in California have a Raptor. When Mel first got it, he had issues with the tires wearing. As I remember, he said the weight of the trailer was stated lower than actual and that the tires were underrated for the actual weight of the trailer.

Hotel Staying Folks ~ Place to stay

Postby Texasbuggys » 17 Sun Jan, 2010 1:03 pm

I know lots of folks this year are camping but for the hotel staying crowd, where is everyone staying this year? And what dates? It would be nice if a bunch of us stay at one hotel.

We are staying here Copunrty Inn Hotel - 830.997.2185, we stayed here last year and it was clean and cheap $98 a night and most everyone has a two night min this weekend. So we are staying Friday and Sat. Call early as things will fill up fast. If ya stay tell them you are with the Buggy Club

Hey everyone we are booked at the La Quinta for Saturday. Can't wait to hangout with everyone. It seems like it been forever.

We are ready for some bugging. We have a windshield now, yes real automotive safety glass! It is awesome to drive in the dark and be able to see the road. I think it looks pretty good too...

We are at the Country Inn now.

I had called them originally, but they told me two night minimum. But just got off the phone with the owner Jeff and he said one night no problem. Super nice guy.

Look forward to visiting with everyone.

I'm planning on having the buggy if we (mostly Bryan's Brain) can figure out why it's running bad.

I haven't decided about entering the show. If they place the buggies where they did last year, I may just drive into the show and park right behind the entered buggies so I can enjoy visiting with the buggy folks.
