My trip to Lone Pine, CA

Postby GregR » 11 Sat Oct, 2008 2:15 pm

went out to CA last weekend and joined the Manx Club for their Lone Pine run. Did 128 miles Friday and about the same on Saturday. They had a great potluck Saturday night and then we went Sunday AM for one last run.
Gorgeous scenery in the mountains between the Saline Valley (north end of Death Valley National Park and Mount Whitney.
Here's a couple of pictures (some are funky looking, my camera was crapping out) and a link to my photobucket. If you ever get a chance to cruise with theses guys, I highly recommend it.

the bottom 2 pictures were taken in an area called Alabama Hills. Probably 90% of the westerns ever made were shot in that area. The main "road" through it is called Movie Land Road. They aso shot several scenes from Star Wars out there.
