Man I got to really get busy! I am thinking maybe the Hotel with the big pool and water slide on the main road and stay a few extra days. Anybody know the name of it? The Hampton Inn, but Sabre said it was like $150-$160 a night so we will probably be at the Holiday Inn Express again. We have a Fredricksberg book and we will take a look at it to see if any other spots. Or does anyone know of a place on the main road in the center of town? One thing that would be great if we could get a large group at the same place again and we need to book early to accomplish that so lets get going and decide folks! Great starter post Greg, thanks for watching out for us. We probably need to do the same for the Blast.

I'm planning on going, and if things work out, I'd like to make it a bit of an extended trip by coming up on Thursday (More time for cruising :) )

I called the Holiday Inn Express the other day, and I was surprised to find out they are booked up.

I'm working on making my buggy trailer into a camper I can sleep in, and in anticipation of being finished, I've reserved a campside at Lady Bird Park. But, if it starts looking like I can't be through in time, I'll be looking for a room, and Bobby's right, it's a lot more fun when a group is at the same place.

If someone finds reasonable accomodations, please post it, and I may hedge my bet and book there also, and then just have to cancel the one that doesn't work out.

Is anyone else planning to camp?

Not sure about the standard rate but with Chrissy's state employee rate it's 115.00 per night.
Im not sure were staying there but I wanted to get something booked before its to late.

Looking for something in Salado now, Looks like the Holiday inn has gone up a bit.
Bill, you've stayed at the Stagecoach inn, what did ya think of it?

I've stayed at the Stagecoach Motel, and at the Condos they lease. I liked the condos better, but can't remember what the rates were.

Sounds like the word is out about us wealthy Dune Buggy folks coming to town, so they are jacking up the rates

I stayed at a place called Sunset Inn the first time I went to the Classic. To hedge my bet on having my camper finished, I just booked a room there.

It's an older motel that is just down the road from the show. It's clean, but nothing fancy. The rate for a single queen, non-smoking is $59.

Yes, Fredericksburg. But, I also just booked what they said was the last room at the Holiday Inn Express in Salado for the Buggy Blast.

When Linda and I were in Salado a few weeks ago they were building a new motel just across from the Holiday Inn. It looke like it could be finished in time for the Buggy Blast, but it didn't have any signs identifying it.

If I can find out what it's going to be, I'll post it up.

I just mounted my body for the last time. Everything is done in the upholstery department. I have to mount the cage, then wire it. After that I'll see if it will run. The steering column could be a problem, knowing where to make the hole I mean. Being ready by April will be close, but I might make it since I am retired and can work on it everyday. :)

Postby Texasbuggys » 01 Thu Jan, 2009 11:04 am

We are staying here for the classic, coming in on the 16th and checking out on the 19th. I asked them to list the Texas Manx Club so when you call reference it and they will try to get us all together. $98 a night for a room with two queen beds. 830.997.2185

2009 Buggy Blast

Postby Texasbuggys » 01 Thu Jan, 2009 3:05 pm

Ok folks we found a great place to stay in Salado for the buggy blast and booked our room just a few minutes ago that still has a few cabins open. These are log cabins from the area that were built in the 1800's and over look the water. They do have room for trailers and parking and were excited about buggys in the park. http://www.touringtexas.com/weatherstone/ (254) 947-8003

It is located on Pace Park and close to down town and we hear they cook a mean home made breakfast included with the room price.

Thanks Bobby for posting the information on the Fredericksburg - My Country Inn. We booked our room today and plan on coming in on Thursday afternoon.

We also checked again with the Holiday Inn Express in Salado this morning and found a room there for the Buggy Blast.

Looking forward to all of our upcoming 2009 events.

Will probably call the Meyer B&B later today and get a room for the Roundup :D

Hi everyone, we're really looking forward to visiting with everyone at the upcoming gatherings.

We are planning to check out the classic this year, for the first time. We will drive over Sat morning and we have a room at the motel6. Country Inn was out of family accommodating rooms and I just can't afford two.

For Salado, we are booked at the Holiday Express, Sat and Sun nights.

For Boerne, we are booked at Meyer B&B, Fri, Sat and Sun nights.

Hi Bryan, thanks for asking. We are all fine, just been super busy. My oldest started high school band this year and we were not expecting or ready for the time required from the whole family for that. Not to mention work. Ha, I let them pay me, you would think they could leave me alone, but no.

Speaking of my oldest, she actually started working on last years Round Up video. Music sounded good, but she is keeping it secret from me for now. Maybe she will have it done by September...

We are looking forward to all the up comings and I sure hope to let you keep that distinguished award you are holding so proudly.

Happy New Years to all.

So very good to hear from you Ken. I'm like Bryan, hadn't heard from you in a while and was wondering how you and family were doing.

I'm glad to hear you guys are coming to the Classic in addition to the Blast and the Roundup. That gives us at least three chances to get together.

I've given Bryan so much grief about his esteemed "Doom Buggy Award" that I'm sure hoping the "Goddess of Retribution" doesn't pay me a visit.
;-) ;-)

Can't wait to see the Roundup video.

Here you go Chris: 830-995-2304 or 888-995-6100.

Or, you can book online. I would recommend getting a room in the Merchantile.

On holiday weekends they have a three-night minimum, so I think most of us are booking Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

I'm so glad to know you'll be joining us. :D

Your in the building running street long and "I think" your in the room at the south end of the building. Right next to the hammock's. I hope to visit a couple of those this time. We're neighbors. We are 801 at the other end of the building same side. They keep us rowdy "kids" away from the "gentlemen", they put "them" on the creek side of the building.

Breakfast was very good eating last year. I hope that hasn't changed much? We got in the pool a couple times also, very nice pool area. I hope for a couple cold ones around it this year.

Oh, another really great aspect of the MB&B is the really cool daily morning cruise's to Boerne.

Oh my, I just don't think I can wait til September...

Salado, Memorial weekend is the "official" club gathering. And well worth the visit. if you can make it. Tons of helpful cars and people to visit with.

Boerne, Labor day weekend is one we would not miss. I guess I am sayiing, you just gotta do them both.

Oh and July on the beach is a popular gathering also. Thats on our calendar this year also. Thats three you gotta go to, just because...

Hi guys,

I'm so confused now that I have no idea which event this string is referring to.

So to prevent further confusion I'm locking this thread.

Please start a new threads for:

1)Classic April 18-19

2) the Buggy Blast May 23-24

3) The RoundUp Sept. 5-6

Thanks....my head hurts :?
