Blower

Postby Russhebert » 04 Mon Jun, 2007 6:22 pm

I am building a 1640 and I am wanting to put a 4-71 blower on top. I run a machine shop so I can build some parts if I have to. I was woundering if anyone knows of a web site I could go to to get some ideas on this? I have put the GM type blowers on other cars but this will be my first VW. Any help I can get will greatly be appreciated.

Look for some Dick Landy info, they build a really nice setup. Same setup I think that the Towd that is running around has on it. Very nice setup and not to terribly expensive.

Here's a pic I ran across. Are you building it for your buggy? Image

As a mater of fact I am not sure about where it will go. I will put it on the buggy or I am building a sand rail, but I think I would like to see it on my buggy.

I just found out that Dick Landy died in Jan of this year and the family is not taking calls or e-mails about his products at this time. I does look like he has a real nice setup for VW's.

I have been to his website but there is no way of finding out how much they are or what they look like because the site says please do not call of e-mail. Maybe they will take calls later. I can respect thier privacy for now. I will continue to look for other resources.

Yea the strange part is it also says
"Dick Landy Industries is open and will continue to do business as usual"
How do they plan on doing business as usual if there not taking any calls or emails :?

when I read that I assumed it was just as a way of asking his long time
friends to not call about his death.
you know how folks can call and reminess about old times.
it just seems to be worded strange
If I was in the market for a blower I would give them a call
as his systems are the authority in our engines

his setup will go for around 3500 bucks. I looked last year about it. my engine cost that much, so I was not going to do it.
who ever said "you can do anything you put your mind to" where full of poop.
