David O, What is your take on the 34 pict? Is the 30/31 better?

34 pict? David...go for the gusto...get the new EMPI 34mm dual carb setup. That thing looks wicked. If you buy a NEW pict 30/31/34 check to ensure the diaphram, and parts are good. I went through 3 of them before I got one that worked.

if it's an original PICT34, it's rather bulletproof..I ran 'em for years..nothing fancy, nothing special, but they do work.........WELL.
you must have pride....in your ride....

ok..I did not specify...the ones made in Brasil and Mexico are..well..less than ideal. Just look for quality and you shouldnt be surprised. All the ones i went through were Brasilian.

The PICT 34 is a good carburator, but a lot of them out there that are used, have developed a hole between the the air mixture screw and the volume screw.
This is usually caused by people letting them set on cars without the aircleaners on and they fill with water.
The 30/31 is a good replacement, and it responds quicker to the input from the throttle due to the fact that they have a higher vacume signal than the 34.
Believe it or not, most peole do not know how to set a carburator, especially when using the 009 dist.
If at first you don't succeed, beat the pshaw out of the business partner, and then go at it alone! LOL!
