Speedometer location

You Texasbuggy owners a question. Where is the best location on dash to mount speedometer? I have a 73 Super beatle speedometer & want to know if it will interfere with wiper motor or arms. How about speedometer cable?

speedo

Gary, are you required to run electric wipers? If not I can offer you a cool clamp on mount that is easily removable. No wires and interference problems. I have installed the super speedo with no problems, center the speedo and drop down as low as you can without cutting thropugh the bottom of the dash. Of course double check rear clearances. Also two types of wiper motors so you need to check which you have to clear the speedo.

FYI
here in Texas the guy at the inspection station told me that if there were holes in the hood for wipers that the wipers must be in that location to pass a safety inspection
just some info

In Texas no windsheild- no wipers required.
