Exhaust & Engine Power

Postby Bill K » 29 Sat Sep, 2018 11:02 pm

I've been told running a dual bazooka type exhaust reduces your engine's power.

I just switched from a dual bazooka to a Tri Mil Bobcat w/ Glasspack exhaust. And, maybe it's the "Power of Suggestion", but I sure think I can feel some increased power with the new exhaust.

Any truth to the Bazooka / Reduced Power idea?

Its true, the bazooka reduces horse power due to low back pressure.

It's my understanding that you can increase power by up to 20 percent with the proper back pressure. I'm not much into those stinger style exhaust systems but I have seen some really nice looking ones that reduce to a single muffler that swings down end terminates on the passenger side. Saw it on some buggies in Brazil. If I can find the article, I will throw the address in here.

This is what I'm running now.
Sorry about the vertical orientation, but I couldn't get Photobucket to make it horizontal.

Danny Dirks said he got the best price from SoCal. I did some checking around and also thought they had the best price.

So, I ordered mine from them, and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it arrived.
