Windshield Replacement

Postby ScottR » 24 Mon Dec, 2012 3:30 pm

I need some help changing out my windshield on my buggy. The glass has some rock hits and are now starting to spider so now I need to replace the glass. How do I get the glass out? Can I get the glass out without taking the frame off as well? Thank you in advance.

Best way is to remove the windshield. I assume you have a Manx or a clone with one of Dino's windshield/frames.
There should be 2 bolts on each side you can reach from under the dash and just lift it off.
They're usually tight enough that they won't flop over, but as a precaution you might have someone close to steady it until you come out from under the dash and both of you lift it to a safe place.
Once removed, there are 2 small screws (1 on each side) that conect the bottom rail to teh rest of the frame and holds the glass in. Remove that and you're done.

Thanks Greg, I was hoping I didn't have to remove the frame from the body and was hoping that the 2 screws, (1 on each side) would let it loose so that I could replace it. Yes, I have a Manx/style.
