Changing Exhaust - - - Retune ?

Postby RobertB » 27 Wed Jun, 2012 8:09 am

Guys,
I am changing my exhaust from Tri-Mil "Stinger" to EMPI Dual Glass Packs. Is it necessary to re-tune the engine (carbs)?

Thanks,
Robert

I changed from the TriMil Stinger to the TriMil twin cannons and did not retune. I didn't notice any difference except that it had more power.

Totally different sound, much deeper tone. Just what I was looking for.

Hi Robert. It sure was nice visiting with you and Ronnie. I wish my weekends would clear up so we could do some practicing for the Round Up.
The rain isn't helping, Lets plan a day sson to drive over to Lochart and taste some BBQ?

SO RObert got him a new exhaust.
Anyone else working on their buggy before the RU?
What are you doing to it?

Ken,
Thanks, and same here visiting with you and Dellia (?spelling). Yea the rain is annoying, but we sure need it. A pratice RU drive sounds good, I need to put some miles on the buggy to build up my confidence in it, since it's new to me.

Yes I switched out my exhaust, but I've also been doing outher things to it. I replaced the Scat shifter with an EMPI trigger shifter which I like alot better, installed shoulder seat belts, bought new carpeting and a center console (not installed yet), installed a SaveMyBug oil temp. indicator, and ordered a new windshield and frame from Dino @ Bugshields. I want to get a small Bimini top, but don't know here to get it here in Austin.
Now all I need is the time to get it all installed.
