A location would help tremendously. I am assuming Houston by the number listed. What part of Houston? What do you need done?
BTW welcome to the club/site. You have stumbled onto the best to be if you own a buggy. Great bunch of people.

You might try Craig's List as a resource, however you need to to exercise "Caveat Emptor" to its fullest.

Every ding dong who replys will claim to be an "old school VW mechanic", meaning you will need to screen them carefully. Ask lots of questions and sort out the BS!

I had a guy from Fort Sam in San Antonio, who was a tank mechanic, and was great with VW's, but I can't find his number. He diagnosed a fried Pertronix module within ten minutes and had it running on the old poinst and condensor withing twenty minutes.

If I can find his number I'll PM you.

Good Luck

Adam - VeeDubNut on this forum is from San Antonio. Perhaps he would be able to point you in the right direction in finding someone.
