Monitoring Engine Temp?

Postby mwh986 » 17 Wed Aug, 2011 10:40 am

Is there a prefered method to monitor engine temp? I see two options viable, oil temperature gauge or cylinder temperature gauge.

What do most folks use, and which is a more accurate picture of engine health?

Bryan,

Thanks for the quick response.

If I install a "T" where the current oil pressure sender to share with the oil temp sender, does this indicate accurate temp?

Or is there another location on a 1500cc single port engine?

Much thanks!

best place is in the oil sump but you need to drill and tap a hole.
next is a dip stick with a temp sender.
I don't run one it gives me to much to worry about.
