Front brake pull

Postby HRW » 20 Wed Jul, 2011 10:16 pm

Just replaced front drum brakes with disc kit. Due to a brake pull with drum. Put kit in and bleed system got a good hard pedal. Problem is the same, still have a right front pull and wheel lock up. Replaced both front hose with rubber.
I was also disappointed in the braking, was expecting a big different, not much of an improvement.

My thoughts are the master cylinder or the hard lines coming out of the master cylinder.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreicated.

Maybe you need a brake residual valve. On a light vehicle, you should put discs in the rear from what I've been told. I was gonna do front disc conversion but was told to do the rear instead. :|
I never knew I know so little till now...

I have 4 wheel disc, no residual valve and no pull. The fronts do tend to engage before the rears though, but no left/right pulling problem.

I have front disc and rear drum no risidual valve and stops fine. sounds like your hard line is pluged or maybe there is debris in the master. Hard lines are cheap enuff to replace or remove them and run a wire or compressed air thru them.
It's EASY.... if you know how.

Thanks, that sounds like a plan, at least I'll try it.
I appreciate your help
