:?: would you cut out a 6 point mounted s/a t/tube in a rail to put in an IRS tube? Or just convert the swing? Which is easier i guess is what I'm asking... :?
I never knew I know so little till now...

just weld in the control arm braket and change the spring plates and trans axle.
It is a lot of work but gets and smoother ride.
a lot of people like the swing axle better some say it is stronger.

:) stronger is better but this is a rail so i want the travel..... I plan on makin my FunBuggy 30-30 a street ride with a big 2 liter motor. That one will stay swing. So, i can make my own jig for the brackets by using the irs tube as a jig for the jig, right? Then measure and transfer? I heard most store bought jigs were cheaply made and are not exactly right. I don't want to spend big coin on a one time tool. Anybody ever make their own?

In the Sept 2010 and Feb. 2011 issue of dune buggy and hot vws mag there are two very good articles on this swap.
It's EASY.... if you know how.
