WHEEL BACKSPACING

Postby MURZ » 10 Thu Jun, 2010 12:58 pm

Any ideas if a 4.5 backspace rim will work on 15x8's with 275/60's?? I am running a long(1968) swingaxle.

I think that is what mine are. But I'm still running adapters.

The rears on mine are 275-60's cragar s/s 15x8 standard chevy which I believe is 3.5 or 3.75 backset. I don't have a lot of room. In fact with tire flex, the top of the tire barely rubs the top rail of the tube chassis (Hawkeye) doesn't seem to hurt anything but does take the chassis paint down to the primer in about 3/4 inch long section (chassis is black, primer is white.) I'm running 4 wheel disc brakes also.

Mine are 295x50x15 on four inch backspacing. I'm running adapters also. I have plenty of room. :)
