Clutch cable shortening kit

Anybody use one of those things? I think it is a pretty terrible design. Maybe if you have pictures of how yours was installed I can find out what I am doing wrong. Otherwise they are a piece of C*&(P  I might just make something here at work.

Are you talking clutch cable?
You can cut the cable and use cable clamps, or loop the cable and use cable clamps or(and of course the shop's name escapes me now http://locashracing.org/products.html is one place) have custom length cables made.

I used one of these

On clearance at Harbor Freight. Just cut off the cable and put this on. Ran the threaded part through the arm on the transaxle and away we go...

Yes, and have called back repeatedly over the last couple of months thinking that some might come in. The web page says "only available in store locations" because its on closeout. Have called both stores.

from my samba post.........

What I did on my buggy was cut the other end of the cable and swedge an eye on the hook side. The rear end of the cable looks stock....all in the details. Do two cables at one time.... Did it at West Marine for like 7 bucks......

Heck you might even put a swivel fitting on the pedal side and weld a bolt to the hook and attach with a nyloc and washer...Just sayin....
