Disc brake conversion

Postby fullup12 » 09 Sun Aug, 2009 10:31 am

Has anyone had problems with caliper and rotor lining up on after market kits? My calipers are too close to the outside of the rotors. This is a spindle and brake kit so you would think it should be a no brainer. My inside bearings are seated against the spindle correctly(rotor and caliper are stock type). Anyone have any ideas?

Can you use washers to shim the caliper in the right direction? Or, if you need to go the other way, remove material from the caliper or mounting area? Tom

Shims would take them the wrong way. I probably will have to remove some metal to center them. Has anyone else had this problem?

What kit did you buy? I am about to buy a king and link type conversion with the drop spindles and it would be good to what brand you are having issues with. Did you use new Bearings? How much more room do you need? Good luck.
