Ok. Someone must know this one. I have been driving my buggy for some time now and all the sudden anytime I try to get it into a gear, it grinds. It actually started with 2nd and reverse but now it does it with all of them.

I have looked at the clutch cable and it is perfect. It have the right amount of play and when depressed, it moves the arm on the transmission perfectly. BTW, this is connected to an IRS transmission. Any thoughts?

Have you checked to be sure your shifter is adjusted properly? Also check the bushing in the tunnel right behind the shifter.

I checked it all. Everything looks good. I also tried 3 other shifters. All had the same results. Very strange.

Hopefully one of the other guys can come up with some ideas.
As I remember when we looked at it, it would grind when trying to get reverse and 2nd. It would stay in gear once it was there right, i.e. it doesn't pop out of gear when driving, right?

That was why I thought shifter adjustment or the bushing first. The clutch pedal/cable is adjusted correctly with correct amount of play. Is it possible Cajun Buggy has a bad clutch or it isn't torqued down correctly?

no popping out of gear...just grinds to get into gear almost like the clutch is not fully depressed..when it is in gear, it acts just fine (no slippage).

Try tighting the clutch up a turn or two if that dosn't work
the bearing in the center of the gland nut may be bad.
Just a few things to try.

It is possible that the disc is loosing some of the lining, and that has put a piece of the lining on top of another section, or the pressure plate is partially broken. If the clutch is making noise when you depress the pedal, then it is also possible that the throwout arm(s) are broken, a clip has come off. or the gland nut bearing is gritty and sticking.

Weak pressure plate or bent forks on the throwout?

Also possible that the clutch tube has come loose in the tunnel.
