New wiring harness

Postby Greaph » 02 Fri May, 2008 3:57 pm

Well my new wiring harness came in today. Purchased from an EBAY store for $160.00 with shipping.

On first blush, the packaging is adequate, however, the instructions are not. They are incomplete at best. With a little electrical knowledge, and some common sense, installation should not prove too troublesome. All wire is color coded and labled the entire length of the wire. The fuse panel is 21 circuit (including the starter circuit) and utilizes Mini blade fuses. It comes with several male and female plugs, and the horn, and light relays, as well as the turn and hazard flashers.

In all, I am well satisfied. :)

You know that is probably the part of the build that scares me the most.

Don't forget your big spool of black ground wire!

I used a similiar style harness but with fewer circuit.

Are you going to be running some big accessories? 21 circuits gives me plenty to play with!

Biggest accessories will be the lights (offroad lights, 2x 100 watt, and 2x 35 watt HID driving).. the stereo wont be all that much (I dont intend to run any amps or subs). I just couldnt pass up 21 circuits just in case I need them.

Did you put heat shrink over all your connectors or can you buy connectors that way?

Heat shrink wrapped them all individually.

Bough 4, 3 foot sections, of shrink wrap at the recent swap meet for the next project!
