Urathane juice

Postby carlos del carpio » 23 Wed Nov, 2005 11:38 pm

Hey guys!

I got my super cool urathane bushings/bearing replacements for my IRS beam...now, I know I'll mount them, mark them, then drill them so I can lube 'em, but HOW MUCH LUBE should be in that beam, and how can I get more? It's not regular bearing grease, and the package only came with two little tiny packets....

so, how much, and where can I get more? what's it called, and can it be obtained locally, such as an automotive store?

Thanks, and happy turkey day! :D

The lube is a silicone lube. The two packages are enough to do the job. The stuff doesn't go away like the grease does. All you do is smear the stuff on the arms and put them in. But if you want more stuff....I'll talk to a guy I know and see if they know how to get more. You won't be able to put more in (like with a grease gun) once the arms are in....I don't think. More on this tomorrow!
If at first you don't succeed, beat the pshaw out of the business partner, and then go at it alone! LOL!

I just put mine in this weekend and couldent help think of you.
man that stuff is sticky
the last time I had something like that it was in an electrical application
I would start with a dielectric grease for high voltage aplications.
we had some for our furnace and from what I remember it was High DOLLAR for a small tube of the stuff. I will keep checking.
the small packet that comes with it is missleading I put all of it one tube on one arm, the realised OH !@#$ I need to do the other arm too.
darn if I dident turn around and do the exact same thing on the other side
I just scraped some off and put it on the other one.
oh well live and learn.
