carb adjustment

Postby Russhebert » 24 Sat Nov, 2007 6:21 pm

I have dual 40mm Kadrons and trying to adjust air fuel mixture. I have the equalilizer tube between the two. When I try to screw the screw in to adjust it will screw in all the way in and makes no difference. It was on the left side carb and the right side was ok, but now it seems as though it is the right side that will not adjust. I have checked all around the carbs and the intake for leaks with spray but do not see or hear any. I am using the steel or aluminum intake gaskits. I hate to be a big problem but help would be appreciated. Any ideas?

Try bringing the idle down to just a slow tick(retard the timing about five-seven degrees ....just for this little adjustment) and then crimping the balance tube hose when you adjust the mixture. Now bring the timing back up to where you want it set.
