Corvette vs Manxter

Postby Patrick » 25 Thu Jan, 2007 4:43 am

Well the Green 62 Manx we had beat a Mustang so I know most of your light buggies now would or could keep up with a vette possibly. Not sure a Manxter would keep up with 4 people in it with a vette. The only people that would be sitting back there would be kids. I know I wouldn't be sitting back there. Talk about bugs flying up your pants I'd have them hitting me in my face!!

If you had a subaru motor in it I could see that or something quicker.

Kathleen & I have driven a Manxter with a turbo Subaru engine in it. It was the car that was in Car & Driver and Road & Track last year, very fast. 0 - 60 MPH in 4.2 seconds. It was a WRX spec engine. She is planning on doing that conversion to her car next winter. The company is selling turn key cars. The VW powered cars should be about $40.000 and the 6 cylinder cars with the special tranxle with be a "little" more. Tom

Manxter 2 + 2

Postby Patrick » 26 Fri Jan, 2007 1:31 am

That's just for the basic Manxter Kit I believe. Remember the Pods are extra, the Top was extra, what kind of seats you want in it are extra, and if you want pads on your roll bars that's extra money as well. We've noticed they have gone up on their extra parts since we've bought ours. Sure wished we known about the lourverd pods before we got the normal ones, but oh well. There are alot of extra's that you need to have put on the kit if you want it to look good or just go basic.

I got a quote once from the guys up North about puting ours together. I think it was ECR they said it would be between $35 to $40k depending on what we wanted in it.
