Gert,
I have one that color too. Mine's missing part of the exhaust and that's it. Pretty tough to find parts for these. On mine, I have to keep the tires off the ground or they flat spot pretty quick.
When I was a kid, I had one and put a remote controil into it to drive around....(dad was into R/C airplanes) Sure was a lot of fun. I think it got given away to the neighbor kid....wish I had it back !
I'm looking forward to the moment the postman delivers this beautiful buggy at my house. After that I will search for parts on eBay. For me the only way to get the parts. Complete, new in a box, these Cox-dune buggies cost a lot. 300,00 USD seems to be very normal. I was lucky and bought this one for 60,00 USD. (excl. shipping)
The Franklin Mint Meyers Manx is also a favorite of me. Maybe in the near future.....
last week I saw a avon dune buggy colonge bottle on the samba
I thought hmm pretty cool
the guy was looking for the top with engine on it
while in OKlahoma went thru the local swap meet/ flea market
found a mint one for 2 bucks bought it cleaned it up
will get picks of it over the weekend
Now THIS is what I thought you were talkin about. It is one of those K-Mart buggies (just a plastic toy) now set up with R/C! The thing is a kick in the pants!
Not mine though. Wish I had one.
