A total of 10 cars made the trek to Eureka Springs last Fri. We left Hawkeye Buggies about 8am. traveling up hwy 259 thru North Tx. into Broken Bow, OK where we met up with Kenny and Robin Morris [from OKC]. We proceeded n. to Heavener, OK where we turned east to Hwy71 then n. to hwy 23 which carried us into Eureka. If you have ever been on a roller coaster then you have a vision of hwy 23 in Ark. in a dunebuggie. We enjoyed the crooks, turns, hills and hollers of a beautiful part of Ark. We arrived about 6pm. with check in at the Travelers Inn. There we met new club member, Glen Austin from Dover, Ark. Some of you may have met Glen at Salado. Sat. morn saw everyone up and headed for Guidos Pizza Cafe for some of their famous biiiggg biscuits for breakfast. If you take your hands and form them as if to hold a ball and then seperate them by 2 inches you will have an idea of the size of these biscuits. Don't miss an opportunity if you are in the area. After a short shopping trip across the street, everyone headed for Neosho, Mo. and Hatfields smoked meat shop. After meeting up with Rusty Jackson's aunt there, we headed back along the shores of the White river. Back at the motel, everyone laid back for some rest and then dressed for catfish at the Cabin. We had reservations for the family show that night at Ozark Mountain Hoedown. Donna Davis had made all the arraingments and did a great job of having our group presence acknowleged during the show. It is a good show for the entire family and I believe all will agree that it is a must see if in ES. We left out 7am Sun. morn after saying goodby to Glenn. We had several car problems during the trip with Russell Christian breaking a crank in his motor only 60 mi. from home. All in all it was a great trip. There are rumors of a fall cruise to La. and the casinos and a circuitous route back to E-Tx. Have a great summer and drive your buggy on a regular basis. They get lonesome.
