Course if your building a nice buggy like this why would you only put a 1600 cc motor in it..?

2 reasons on the top of my head..

the first reason, the engine was swapped..for a new project..

or, if you're like me

it's taken sooo long to build the buggy, if I wait for my 1.9 liter with single carb, side draft with turbo, it's gonna take a couple more years.. I can wait, or start driving with a 1600CC!!! 8-)

I understand Carlos, I am at that point as well! I would like to go with the Corvair motor.......but it is going to less money to go with a VW. So that's my plan, going to get it on the road and then consider it my unfinished project for many years. Nothing on credit for me, I want the whole thing to be mine when I am driving it down the street.

Another reason is safety and control..you start out with a buggy, which is twitchy and verrrrry responsive, almost to the point of mega under and oversteer, and then add a 150HP engine..or MORE, it's trouble.. best to have the vehicle with a basic engine, get to know the beast..know the limits of the car, etc..then upgrade the power... at least that's what I'm saying to myself! ;-)
