For those of you that haven't heard, our good friend and brother BillK, underwent a "tune-up" yesterday and his post-op credentials sound pretty dang good! Please shout a prayer out for Bill and family as he recovers.. Here's the scoop from Miss Leenda:

"For those who haven't heard, the surgery itself was over 6 hours, and we were in the waiting room about 8 hours. The surgeon replaced his calcified aortic valve with cow tissue, did a "2-fer" single bypass on an artery that was 100% blocked and a nearby area that was 90% blocked. There were numerous other much-lesser blockages (30-40%), but they did not require attention at this time. Also, Dr. Alexander managed to broaden a small artery with a Dacron mesh insert. Though Dr. A said his heart was not beating as vigorously as before (getting tired from working so hard), all went well and he expects a good recovery. :)

Until he is able to have visitors, I'll request no visits during this immediate post-op period. Of course visiting times are limited in ICU, but he could be moved today or tomorrow. Regardless, I asked him if he would prefer no visitors for the time-being, and he said he really isn't ready for company just yet. But I wish you could have heard the sound of profound gratitude and thanksgiving in his voice, when I told him how many have been inquiring as to his condition/prognosis and sending their love and good wishes."

Way to go Bill, it's really gonna be tough to keep up with you after this!!

Cheers, Salute, Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Do you think he will be ready for Fredericksburg?

Bill and Linda have been hit with a nasty virus. Just a little something to go along with the recovery of his major surgery. Talked to Bill last night and he is certainly optimistic about getting through all this. Recovery from the surgery is going as expected; so far so good. What a trooper!

Hang in there sir, warmer weather and buggy gatherings are right around the corner!

Really sorry to hear about the virus hitting you two.
Follow doctors orders and take your time.
We're all waiting for the next time we can visit with you both.
And if you need anything... ANYTHING AT ALL... post up and let us help you out.

Best wishing.

Hello Friends,
I have to tell you how much your thoughts and prayers have meant to me. When we hit some of life's bumps in the road we really come to realize what a blessing it is to have true friends in your corner.

The recovery has been a bit tougher than I anticipated and was further complicated by coming down with a virus as soon as I got home. As I've told some folks, I'm just glad I didn't know before hand what was going to be involved in all this. But, I'm coming back to the land of the living and glad to be able to walk more than 15 feet without running out of breath.

You are some of the finest people anyone could hope to know, and I'm so grateful that you have become a part of our lives.

Great to hear from you Bill. Keep us updated when you can.

We're hoping for a day real soon when you can hop into that yellow roadster of a buggy with one arm on the wheel and the other wrapped around your girl pulling her hard up next to you as you're heading out into the sunset.

Dang... I gotta go sit in my buggy for a minute now.
