Does anyone recognize this buggy?

Postby Cruzrmm » 24 Sun Feb, 2013 4:04 pm

I'm hoping that someone will recognize this buggy and know how to reach the owner.
Looks like a TEXAS Plate? JENKS

This is the only photo I have of it.
Sure would like to know if it is still around and if it might be for sale.
Yes, that is a DLi (Dick Landy Supercharger)

Thanks for any leads.

That's the Sand Hopper (Tow'd) of Ray Jenks.
He's had it for many years and has shown it at a couple of Buggy Blasts.
I expect it (or at least Ray ) will be at the Texas VW Classic in April.
No idea if he might consider selling and no contact info for Ray either.

Thanks for the reply Greg.
Do you know in what city or town Ray is located?
If possible, I will try to find him in a online directory if I can narrow it down some.

Maybe someone on the forum knows how to reach him?

Much appreciated.

As Greg said, he's entered it several times at the Texas VW Classic. I'm not sure it they can or will share his contact information, but I'm sure they have that from his entry forms.

He seems to have a theSamba.com account. Might be able to email him from there.

TheSamba.com userid Rjenksjr
Says he's in San Antonio, TX.

How did we ever survive without the internet?

Not patient to wait and see if Ray checked his Samba mail and PM's I kept my search ongoing.
The internet is a wonderful tool.
I am constantly amazed at what can be found with enough diligence.
After a number of dead end searches, I was able to narrow down my focus.
Low and behold- found a tel#.
Not sure it was the "right" R Jenks but I gave it a try.....
SUCCESS!!!
Spoke with Ray's wife. Not sure if the Tow'd might be for sale but she will forward my interest to Ray.
We will see where it may go from there.

And remember, I am currently deployed (ARMY) overseas in Afghanistan.
The world is a very small place in this IT age.

Thanks to all that helped me with the leads and photos.
