Manx Buggy Build

Postby texastiedye » 13 Sun Mar, 2011 9:25 pm

We are starting to rebuild our buggy. It's somewhere around a 1968 - 1970 Manx. Finally "hope" we found a good painter and started taking it apart today today to start working on getting it ready. New dash, sidepods, front bumper, rollbar, etc. Looking forward to seeing the final product. :D

Looks like this when we bought it.

Taking it apart, getting ready to get it painted.

Crossing our fingers that we can get the sidepods mounted and looking good.

The picture doesn't do it justice, but she was really pretty when she was originally painted years ago. Bright red metal flake.

Looks like you've got things going on the right track.
Where did you finally find a painter?
And will be see it at the Blast the end of May?

Looks like we are going with our local painter that's painted several of our street cars before. We priced the metal flake at a couple of places, but I think they both are looking at it more of a show car rather than a fun car. I want it nice, but not so nice I don't want anyone getting in an out of it. :D So, Trinity in Weatherford is going to shoot some samples for me. We'll have to see if he can do the flake or it might just end up being a metalic. :?

Not sure on the Buggy Blast.........depends on if we've gotten her put back together by then, but sounds like fun!

We are going with a royal blue type color (I hope).

Got the side pods from the Manx Club store. Mrs. Meyers was really helpful.
