MikesMotorToys 1974 Buggy - SOLD

Postby mikesmotortoys » 09 Tue Sep, 2008 8:57 pm

Here's my 'other' buggy. She's going to be sold to start a Baja Buggy build. I have done some extra work to her since these pictures, so I'll be adding more very soon...

Those are a nice alternative to side pods. Did you make them, or were they a purchased item?

I bought them. They are Baja Sport bars for bugs, but fit perfectly on the dune buggy. They are pretty much available anywhere on the Internet and from the site sponsors. Bars and powdercoat was around $200.00 - cheaper than side pods, for sure. I am thinking on using them on our custom golf carts (but with a slight modification).

I like it!
Always wanted a top like that but thought it would be difficult to get in and out of the buggy. With the low slung sides on your buggy its probably not too bad.

You're right - I don't know how they would work on a standard side height buggy. Some people may find a removeable steering wheel helpful! I am adding another top my Maroon buggy, which I am painting to match the body color. May even add some sort of headliner? Who knows!

Thanks - Took her out for a little 'spin' with the top on and got THUMBS UP from most everyone who saw me (actually, the buggy - LOL). I can't wait to get the other top pre-mounted so I can start painting it to match my '71.

That buggy is outstanding Mike! Do those headlights put out enough light? Do they have high and low beam? Where is Rockwall? Whats the asking price if you dont mind me asking?

Thanks

Rockwall is East of Dallas on Interstate 30 (Lake Ray Hubbard). The headlights put out plenty of light, especially for their size, but there is not a high / low beam adjustment. I have been toiling with the idea of replacing the headlights with larger cans, but can't make up my mind? Selling price is $12,450.00, as of right now. I just ordered a new rear seat setup from PRP (same as my other buggy rear seat). It's a never ending project with the cash register continuing to climb!
