Ouch - is that all that got hurt, the wheel?

I'm going to take you up on the wiring help, I think I just need a kick in the pants to get going on it. I've got plenty of beer.

This is the weekend. I spent last weekend getting everything mounted up, got the hood and windshield in place, plumbed the gas tank, got the headlight buckets and blinkers mounted, got the instruments in. Got a fuse block, bunch of wires, shrink wrap and all of Murzi's diagrams and notes.

Oh I remember that first test drive. I was scared to death that the thing was going to fall apart. I didn't get over 30 mph on th first drive. It all turned out good and now a couple of years later we are cruising 70 on the highway.
Don't get me wrong, you will always have your ears tuned into the slightest squeek or rattle.

I see you still have not decided which side to put the steering wheel  Looks like its going to be a good toy to cruise around in. You should be very proud of your accomplishment up to now. Most dont make it that far before they get tired of the headaches. Hope to see you cruisin the roads soon.

Problem is I have 2 shafts, one is a nice straight shaft but its a little too short, the other one has the collapsable portion, and it won't fit through the pvc pipe I molded into the dash and firewall. I need to extend my short shaft  but I'm not a competent welder for something that I'd hate to have fail during use.

Hose in a gas can, and battery on the floor, and it was off to the races for the first test drive.

It's a pretty thrilling moment.

Well I've been making some progress, but ran into a roadblock when I burned out my new heat gun. Have to wait to get another one to finish up. Relays and switches are all that is left.

A bright orange car sure would look good in the Parade.

Remember Cory, the Roundup is not about judging and awards, so if it's not completly finished bring it on. I too am anxious to see your handiwork in the flesh.

Its going to come down to the wire. I'm going to tackle the brake leak tonight, and re-index the rear end, it finally settled out and now its too low and will rub on the tires with any significant bump. Once the brakes are working then I'll put fuel in it and see if it goes. I still don't know if the transaxle is good or not. I've got another one on standby if it doesn't work.

UPS brought me seatbelts, carb rebuild kits and fuel pump gaskets yesterday, so I can get all that working properly.

Its a long shot, but if I don't make the round up, it will be on the road by the end of the weekend.

Got to ask...is the fuel pump working?
Also, if you're using a stock pump is it hooked up right?
The upper nipple is the inlet. Lower one is out to the carbs.

What's different? Are you getting fuel to the pump? Out of the pump? Unlikely both carbs a clogged, but possible check there too. I know I'm suggesting basics. But if you're like me, you get frustrated and overlook the basics...and the solution is usually basic.
