Chris,

I think it looks good and is right in line with your theme, you might see want to what it looks like if you lowered it a bit, on the other hand maybe you gonna run some monster KC's up there later.

Ok for the record how long have been bending tubing? Maybe I'll have to come buy and lease you and your equipment for a day or two. Anyway I finished the design on my own pan so I'm gonna start welding before christmas on both my buggy and my brother's so I'll be posting pics for everyone to view.

I was planning on stopping by your place, I don't think that thing is portable, I thought you had it anchored to something solid.
Besides your wife wouldn't mind a couple of more buggies in the backyard right?

I like it tall ! as well as Brazin / Bold
I might even go as far as spread some bush whackers out to the lights.
One of the things I have come to like on off road cars is the
Head lights mounted to the bumpers?
and I like Big Shock towers cut that flimsy pshaw off the beam and put some Monsters on the Boy

Progress has been SLOW, I was sick for a couple weeks and the weather hasn't helped much ether.
Got the power plant for it and took the trans up to David Crow for a rebuild. (don't want to have to pull it back out later)
Well here's some pics from today replacing the torsion bushings, notching and reindexing the spring plates.

Postby Texasbuggys » 27 Thu Dec, 2007 11:51 pm

Looks great Chris, ya pulled off the underside tubes excellently! Great job as always! I too have been sick along with the family, about $300 worth of DR visits and meds and we are finally all getting well. Yes, I have gotten a little done here and there. Rebuilding my side gate to a double 4' and some change that will give me a little over 8' drive through. Those cedar pickets are crazy priced, $2.29 a darn picket, I think I consumed about $160 worth including lag bolts, treated lumber, hinges and all. I am going to pick up some more steel for the 5 wender pickup project tommorrow. Got lots of work to do in between all the other stuff. Looks like you are moving along very very good. I still need to catch up with ya to grab those rear fenders, I will prcatice with them and if I can get the shape the way I want I will look for some really nice ones for the finished product.

Absolutely gorgeous build! Looks a lot like what I want to do (Subi-Manx similar to Olli and Tom & Kathleen except with a custom frame). I particularly like the checker plate. I'm a sucker for shiny stuff. Looking forward to more pictures.

Chris make a name tag or engine size tag and rivet it over empi
I cut a nice hole in my aluminum front beam to take out the
Jmar logo because thay ran me around for almost a year to
get a beam that was wrong and not what I ordered or wanted.
So I took it apart cut it up and made it my self.

Chris, the fuel pump needs to go up front....pusher...not puller

When you get it finished I'll come pick it up to work out the bugs for you.

:? Never thought about that. I assumed the original pump was in the rear the electric pump would also go in the rear.
Any idea how these electric pumps work and will it work with dellorto 36's or will I need to install a regulator?

Chris,
I'm not sure about the specific pump your using but most applications will require a regulator. The only time that I did not use a regulator I was strictly using the electric pump to maintain fuel supply to the mechanical pump on my 70 SS chevelle. Nothing like running out of fuel in big block chevy and being thrown forward in a nose dive due to lack of fuel.

There are some pumps that are supposed to be self regulating but its better to be safe than sorry besides this will help in tuning the carbs.

Chris, you need about 3-3.5 psi. Get a good regulator from Moroso or similiar...not the dial a pressure cheapie one.

And the fuel pump may work fine like you have it, my advice is based on years of reading and mounting them in the front...NOT actual experience.
I would ask around and see if anyone else has used them in the rear position before you move it.
